The “how much will you pay for an Apple Tablet?” question might be a bit premature given the specifications or the launch date of the device are not yet confirmed.
Nonetheless, Retrevo has just published a study looking at the price points at which both Mac and PC users would be willing to pay for an Apple Tablet device.
Not surprisingly, the results show that existing Apple users are willing to go higher than PC users. How much higher? 68% of respondents indicate they’d be willing to pay more than $600 for the device, versus just 36% of PC owners stating the same.
It’s not surprising that Apple users are willing to pay more – after all, on average they have a higher household income and own more devices. However, it is interesting that they’re willing to pay so much, and indicative that Apple may be able to charge significantly more than most netbooks and the Amazon Kindle or Barnes & Noble Nook, devices that all seem to fit somewhere in between smartphones and desktop/notebook computers.Read more »
