In the state of Kentucky, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, called Blue Grass Energy provides an energy-efficiency improvement program. This is especially applicable to residential sectors. The program involves an energy advisor who is specially trained to identify areas encompass the residential sector. Upon gaining familiarity with the area concerned, the advisor gives important information to resident families, regarding recommended energy-efficiency improvements. A utility rebate program is available for those who have resided for at least two years in a given area. They should be using an electrically-heated home system, in order to qualify for the rebate. The maximum rebate that members will be able to qualify for is $350. Blue Grass Energy will pay up to $200 for what they refer to as “weatherization improvement.” This improvement includes adding insulation, window replacement, air sealing, and improvement of insulation in a building, in order to make it more efficient.
