Tyra Gets a Nutritionist to Get Her Shape in Shape

http://www.fitsugar.com

You may already know that Tyra's made a lifestyle change, thanks to a little healthy competition with her girlfriends that began last January. While being more active, and committing herself to regular cardio sessions certainly helped her tone up, an episode of Tyra's show this week reveals that her slim-down is in large part due to working with a nutritionist and drastically changing her eating habits. With recent studies debating that weight loss has less to do with exercise, and is more about food, Tyra's revelation seems a timely bit of healthy advice.

Overall, I'm totally impressed with Tyra's take on getting fit — proclaiming the episode "Get Your Shape in Shape," she emphasizes the focus on individual body type, rather than on being skinny, and offers constructive tips for shaping up your shape — like making a decision to get healthy for yourself and keeping a food journal to monitor what you're eating.

Tweet What You Eat diet shames people into calorie counting

http://www.telegraph.co.uk

A new diet on Twitter dubbed Tweet What You Eat has been hailed for its effectiveness as it shames people into listing the amount of calories they have consumed each day.
The diet on Twitter is being used by celebrities including Stephen Fry, who has reportedly lost six stone in six months, and Little Britain star Matt Lucas, who says he has lost half a stone in a fortnight.

Tweet What You Eat is an online food diary that allows you to instantly enter everything you eat. The application, which already has more than 8,000 followers, has a 'CrowdCal system', a completely crowd-sourced calorie database, which fills in food entries' calorie count based on what other members have entered. It allows you to keep track of your weight to see if the diet is working while there is also a forum for dieters to discuss food.
Alex Ressi, creator of Tweet What You Eat, said: "People need to be able to share in the success and lean on others.

"I've had people write in and share stories about 20 pound, 40 pound and the most dramatic – a 70 pound weight loss using the Tweet What You Eat tool and working in conjunction with a nutritionist."

Rush Limbaugh's diet plan from Quick Weight Loss Centers probably won't work long-term

http://www.nydailynews.com

Rush Limbaugh’s newly sleek physique was a short time coming. The right-wing radio host has gone from portly to paunch-free in a mere five months.

Limbaugh confirmed to American Superstar Magazine that he’s using a diet from Quick Weight Loss Centers and eating about 1,500 calories per day. On his Web site, the suddenly sylph-like Limbaugh describes his diet as “based on actual food that you buy at the grocery store, a couple supplements that they provide you.”

Limbaugh has professed ignorance as to how his diet works, despite numerous queries since he announced his weight loss plans in March.

"Folks, it's not that I won't tell you, it's just I can't," he said in June. "It's too complicated. I mean putting the menu together is a jigsaw puzzle every day. It would take me 45 minutes every day to tell you what the diet plan is and answer all your questions about why it works."

Quick-fix diets often don’t work over the long haul, experts say. When dieters lose weight that quickly, the pounds tend to pile back on once they stop the starvation regimen.
