Samantha Ronson, lost a really good friend tonight, and for me it is still surreal. I am deeply saddened, and find it hard to believe that DJ AM, Adam Goldstein, who was only 36, is gone. Adam passed away some time before 5:30 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2009. Adam survived a fatal plane crash, being seriously injured Sept. 19, when his Learjet 60 plane in Columbia, S.C. crashed at takeoff. Four people died in the crash and Travis Barker, the former drummer of the group Blink-182, and Adam Goldstein, DJ AM were in critical condition with severe burns. we informed you, Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM was found dead in his New York City apartment yesterday night.

DJ AM was knows for his creative musical talents as well as some of his more famous girlfriends. He was at one time engaged to Nicole Richie and dated Mandy Moore for an extended period of time.

A representative for Mandy Moore has just issued this statement:

“I am absolutely heartbroken. For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend. To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones.”
