A high-ranking official of Internet and technology giant Google on Tuesday has officially unveiled to the members of cyber media its new web “Search Options” and an updated version of the popular mobile phone platform, called the “Sky Map”. In a media briefing at the company headquarters in California, Google vice president Marissa Mayer said that Google’s new Web search features will allow users to personally narrow down search results depending on their specification.
The official described the new search option of the site as “tools” that will let users to navigate and select only the information that will be useful to them, adding that the tools will also generate a specific viewership details so users can find what they need easier and faster. The “slice and dice” option allows users to view search results based on timeline, video popularity, popular choice on product reviews, and specific forum search, Mayer said. “With the improved Search Options, users can now view search results based on its current standing for the past 24 hours, week, and year. The timeline view will also list down sites depending on their popularity over time,” Mayer said.
