Verizon Wireless Droid X Ad Takes a Stab at iPhone 4's Reception Issues

It seems that Verizon Wireless, the operator behind the “iDon’t” campaign for Motorola Droid, couldn’t resist taking another dig at Apple this week, this time in the form of a full-page ad in The New York Times. The ad, intended to promote the launch of the Droid X smartphone on July 15, appeared to mock Apple for its widely reported reception issues with the iPhone 4, Apple Insider observed. The manufacturer also claims that signal is not affected in any way. If I recall, the whole reason Apple dropped the aluminum back when moving form the original iPhone to the iPhone 3G was that the aluminum back casing wreaked havoc on cellular signals. Now that you’ve essentially got a specially fitted aluminum case wrapped around the antenna…again, “Awesome reception isn’t the first thing I’d think of. We’ll see though. If anything, they’re sure snazzy to look at.
