Giancarlo Fisichella created history for Force India by finishing second behind Kimi Raikkonen in the in the Belgian Grand. Sebastian Vettel finished third ahead of Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld who finished fourth and fifth position respectively.

Adrian Sutil (the other driver from Force India) finished 11th at the race. Fisichella on the other hand started with at the pole finishing the fastest at the laps. He was consistently fast throughout the race finishing extremely close behind the winner, Kimi Raikkonen. Media pundits and formula sports commentators plauded Force India on achieving such a monumental feat with such a tight budget.
