http://www.motoringcrunch.com

Apple unveiled the New iPad '3' earlier this year and with it marked the new generation of Apple hardware for iOS devices. What it left out however was a major software update, iOS 6. Now with WWDC 2012 just around the corner, all eyes are on a possible iPhone 5 and iOS 6 announced. With this in mind, here are4 features we hope iOS 6 brings along with the iPhone 5. Apple WWDC 2012: iOS 6, iCloud, OS X and Macs

http://blogs.computerworld.com

WWDC is all about developers. This means Apple will be focusing on future software releases, principally iOS 6; Mountain Lion and the addition of new dev-friendly hooks into the iCloud. With smart money now favoring a 2013 launch for the self-branded Apple television, the much-improved (15-inch) MacBook (Air?) will be the hardware star of the show. I'm speculating Mountain Lion could be made available as a public beta, while the company tests the integration between the new OS and the future iOS 6. The iPhone 5 will not be introduced here this year.

iCloud beta website reveals unannounced iOS 6 beta, web apps for Notes and Reminders

http://www.theverge.com

With WWDC only a month away, it seems Apple has unintentionally provided an early glimpse at some upcoming iCloud features. Developer Steven Troughton-Smith was apparently the first to discover a beta portal for the company's cloud platform that includes icons for Notes and Reminders, two iOS applications that aren't yet part of Apple's web app suite. iCloud already syncs content from each between devices, so it only makes sense that Cupertino would want to further extend this convenience to the browser. We've been unable to sign in thus far, suggesting that this URL is making an appearance earlier than Apple might've originally planned.

Even more tantalizing, a 9to5Mac reader dove into the website's code and uncovered references to an as-yet unannounced beta for iOS 6, the next major release of Apple's mobile operating system. "To use beta.icloud.com, first sign in to iCloud with the iOS 6 Beta," it reads. It wouldn't surprise us in the slightest if Apple offers a preview of the update at WWDC next month, though little has slipped out as to what new features are on tap.

Apple iOS 6 dropping Google Maps at WWDC 2012?

http://recombu.com

For all of the amazing functionality and native features iOS offers its users, Google have always held one small element of Apple's mobile operating system at their mercy, Maps. Although Apple have designed the user interface to be distinctly iOS, since the birth of the iPhone, the native Maps application has relied on a Google backend to provide location services, route information and all of the geographical wizardry that comes with it. Come Apple's WWDC later this year however and all that will change. With the launch of iOS 6, Apple may well leave behind their reliance on Google services and bring the mapping capabilities of iOS in-house.

apple may finally be providing their own mapping solution in ios 6/

http://www.zdnet.com

Apple has always included a version of Google Maps on their iOS products and for basic mapping and GPS needs it has been fine. However, Google Maps Navigation on Android blows it out of the water for actual navigation needs and I always found it odd that Apple hasn’t tried to beat Google in this area. There are excellent 3rd party applications that took on this role, but according to 9to5Mac it looks like Apple may finally be stepping up to the plate and launching their own mapping product in iOS 6.

This is still a rumor since we won’t hear about iOS 6 until the WWDC in June, but it makes perfect sense to me and the trusted sources 9to5Mac cites appear to have provided some solid information. It looks like the service will be similar to Google Maps, but with some advanced 3D functions thanks in large part to recent companies Apple purchased to develop their mapping solution.
