While I think its important that we’re careful not to criticize Pelosi for having knowledge of “torture” and roped into agreeing with the anti-American left that there was anything wrong with the methods used to extract information, but maintain the message of hypocrisy shown by one of the most vile humans within our border, Nancy Pelosi. Not to mention the out right lie she’s adopted to save her political skin. Three of the best minds discuss Queen Pelosi’s little “waterboarding” problem…Read more »
As we wait for answers, Pelosi has found relatively few allies among her fellow Democrats. Pressed by reporters yesterday, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., allowed that “what was said and when it was said, who said it” should be part of a congressional inquiry — though his aides later explained that he was not referring specifically to Pelosi. Some Democrats may even be making things more difficult for the speaker. Senate Intelligence Chairman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., told AFP: “I don’t want to make an apology for anybody, but in 2002, it wasn’t 2006, 07, 08 or 09. It was right after 9/11, and there were in fact discussions about a second wave of attacks.” Rove in the WSJ: Someone important appears not to be telling the truth about her knowledge of the CIA’s use of enhanced interrogation techniques (EITs). That someone is Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. The political persecution of Bush administration officials she has been pushing may now ensnare her.Read more »
WASHINGTON- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has stepped up Democrats’ calls to form a torture “truth commission,” urging President Obama not to give immunity to anyone who illegally abused terror thugs. Pelosi on Wednesday seized on Obama’s openness to prosecuting top Bush administration lawyers who formulated policies to strip, slap, shove and waterboard detainees said to be among Al Qaeda’s worst in U.S. custody after 9/11.
“It gives further impetus among members to have some kind of truth commission as to what happened,” Pelosi said. “I do not think immunity should be granted to everyone in a blanket way,” she added. Complicating matters was the disclosure that the CIA used waterboarding – which simulates drowning – on 9/11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed 183 times. But ex-CIA Director Michael Hayden claimed at a congressional hearing last year that the practice ceased within a week of Mohammed’s March 1, 2003, capture. CIA officials could not explain the seeming discrepancy.
In the Wall Street Journal this morning, Karl Rove declared that House Speaker Nancy Pelsoi (D-CA) was “an accomplice to ‘torture,’” repeating the right wing’s latest talking point that Pelosi is responsible for Bush’s torture program and should be demonized — even as Rove insists it wasn’t really “torture” and actually was a really great program. This morning, Pelosi held a press conference to address these allegations. Reading a statement, she said that the CIA had told her in September 2002 — falsely — that waterboarding was not being used:Read more »
You know the old saying… if you are in a deep hole and are trying to get out, first thing you do is stop digging. Clearly Nancy “Dumber than Soap” Pelosi doesn’t get it… here she is today trying to undue her earlier lies on the topic of approving waterboarding: Yeah that’s real clear! Folks, this is like the 8th version of the story that Nancy has told. She needs to step down, and based on Steny Hoyers earlier comments, it looks like the long knives are coming out in the statist caucus… Along the same lines… here is a perfect example of how Fox News is the only source of honest reporting out there. Fox is the only news group who truly presents both sides.Read more »
